About 3,000 students from the five boroughs of New York City are eligible to take the Hunter College High School entrance exam in the January of their sixth grade school year. The rate of admission into Hunter College High School is 5.8%. Eligible students must first meet Hunter’s standards in reading and mathematics proficiency on fifth grade NYS exams. The admissions test contains multiple-choice questions in Math and English and requires students to provide a writing sample.
We have a 50-80% success rate in year of 2000, 2002, 2005 and 2007 and we strive to keep it that way.
90% of our students are on level 4 in their statewide exams. Many new immigrant students successfully passed the ESL exam within two years of arriving to the United States. |
